I try to get out of the central cooling system of our cabin and out to our spot in the woods at least a couple times a month. And since it’s also fairly close, I sometimes just go for afternoon trips; but if somebody will go with me, I am consistently up for making a weekend of it as well… That’s the rub though, getting our family out of the residential heating and air conditioning of the lake house is tough. They simply don’t appreciate the plan of roughing it one bit. And that goes double when there is no quality heating and air coming from some heating and air conditioning equipment; then over the last few years, I could count on one hand the times that any member of our family wanted to go up to the cottage as well… It’s hard for myself and others to understand given how charming it is there. In the summertime, there is a freshwater lake that is just absolutely charming. And all year long there are miles and miles of trails for hiking and taking in all that vast beauty, but still, I was the only one that was willing to leave the central cooling system of the cabin to love it. As the adolescents are getting older, I easily wanted to change how they perceived the cottage. So I had the heating and air conditioning supplier come out and install multiple ductless heat pumps to provide residential heating and air conditioning. I also enjoyed having ductless heat pumps for some heating before I got the stove lit when I first arrived at the cottage during the winter.
