It’s hard to afford a car, but it’s also aggravating when you don’t have that form of transferation. You know about it a lot when the weather is harsh and the hot and cold temperatures make it hard to be on foot or on a bike, when I was in school I used to bike in the neighborhood buses! It’s hard working a late job if the bus only runs till midnight, and there are some neighborhoods where it’s not necessarily safe to be riding your bike at night. I easily got chased by somebody trying to mug me when I rode down the wrong Street one time in the middle of the night. I was terrified and almost started screaming for the police as people on the streets cackled and yelled at me, heckling me in the process; Unluckyly, I’m not in a position to be buying a motorcar right now. I just don’t have the money for a payment and I don’t have the savings to get something used! Periodically I have to call an Uber if I need a ride across the neighborhood or cannot fit all the groceries on my bike! Hiring an Uber driver can get high-priced after a while for sure, and you cannot be sure the motorcar will have a great a/c or heating system inside if it’s cold or hot outside. I have a lot of friends that go out drinking every single weekend and they end up having a budget every month just for Uber rides. I guess it’s great to avoid drunk driving, but it’s a sizable expense to be getting overridden that often; The other afternoon I had to write a taxi because I was in an area where Uber would not send a driver. The taxi fee was absurd and there was no working a/c inside of the taxi at the time. I was sweltering during the entire ride because of the lack of an AC.
