I had a face palm moment earlier this month. All because of my disposable air filter. Let me go back a bit. Several days ago, I realized there was reduced efficiency with my A/C. The cooling component was still on, however it was taking progressively longer and longer to cool my household as it should be. It also started making a strange noise, which was troubling. I truly needed my air conditioner component to be running as efficiently as possible, because we are in the midst of summer, and the rapidly changing temperatures outside are incredibly heated. Well, I am no HVAC specialist, so I decided the smart thing to do would be to call one of the professional heating and cooling workers out here to repair the problem. I phoned them and got an appointment. The cooling professional was able to come out the next afternoon. When the A/C worker did come out, he didn’t have to do any repairs at all. Why? Because the problem was my disposable air filter, I had completely forgotten to change out the A/C filter. The filter was clogged and caused complications. I can’t believe I forgot such a vital part of taking care of the A/C equipment. I’m sure the A/C repairman was thinking I was bonkers. Gladly, after a filter change, my heating system and a/c was back to toiling like new, and combating the hot rapidly changing temperatures. I will not be making that mistake again, even if I have to set reminders on my calendar about the air filters.
