My generation of kids entertained ourselves the right way, as far as I am upset. The people I was with and I did not stare at a screen all morning. Sure, the two of us would watch a lot of cable and play our primitive video games, however not before getting our honorable share of exercise outside. The people I was with and I would throw the football and shoot hoops in our driveway. The people I was with and I would ride our bikes and play street hockey. And in the summertime, the two of us would run around in the sprinkler and blast each other with water guns. When I was a kid, my parents had 1 of the only houses on the block with central heating and air. When it came time to calm down from our rough housing and head inside, my friends truly loved kicking back and great at my place more than any of their houses. The people I was with and I would come in, all sweaty in the summer, grab a few sodas from the refrigerator and lounge around in front of the TV. Periodically, my friends would practically pass out in the blissful joy of the air conditioning coming from the vents, and they were reluctant when it was time to finally head to their own respective homes. It was entirely pretty simple to see why. Most of their homes only had a couple window air conditioning units here and there that did not necessarily do a nice task of cooling the entire house; just particular parts of it. I understood why they envied our family, especially on the few options when I visited 1 of their houses in the dead of Summer!
