There was a time when I was suspended from school when I was young.
My parents weren’t very happy about it but I thought it would be fine because I was able to spend some time away from school.
It wasn’t a walk in the park though because my parents gave me extra chores. My father even had me changing the air filter to the HVAC and helping him with various things around the household. I thought it was crazy when we were cleaning out the ductwork system on our own. I thought this was a job for professionals that required certain tools but we were cleaning out the ductwork with a shop-vac. It was a dirty job but at least we got a lot of the dirt out from the ductwork. The thing that was really cool was how the air quality improved in the house after we cleaned the ductwork out really well. Other than doing chores around the house, I wasn’t allowed to watch TV or play games. I couldn’t even go outside to spend time with my buddies until I was back in school again. By the time I actually did go back to school, I was entirely thankful. I was happy to be able to spend time with my friends again and I even appreciated the temperature control settings in the school. We hardly even use the air conditioner at home so the refreshing air from the A/C system was really nice. After that experience, I always was on my best behaviour so I would never be suspended again.
