My wife and I live on a small homestead out in the middle of nowhere, we both used to live in the same actually busy urban section and as luck would have it we worked at the same job for a little while.
The more we saw each other at work the more we started to enjoy each other’s supplier and it wasn’t long until we were nice friends, and then it went past that when we started dating.
Two years later we married. But back then, when we were still just friends my wife had mentioned that she was sick of it all, she was tired of the tied up lifestyle and the office politics, she said she knew this wasn’t for her and that she had bigger dreams and goals in mind, I was the only person she had told, I suppose she didn’t recognize comfortable telling anyone else. I completely agreed with her and told her I felt the same way for a long time. I know she was relieved to not be alone in her thinking and that only brought us closer together, fast forward various years and with a lot of hard tasks and saved up money we purchased some land out in a rural area. We were ready to get away from it all and we even started our own cute little homestead that we were really proud of. We had some cute chickens and they gave us eggs all the time, although recently they had not been kneeling too many, which is unusual. I know the heat is the culprit; After all, they don’t have air conditioning in their chicken coop like every one of us do, then with all of this heated weather it is absolutely too uncomfortable for them to sit any eggs. So our hubby had this weird, surprisingly effective system of putting a fan in the chicken coop. The hens seemed to prefer the cool air as much as every one of us do! Would you believe our egg production picked up again afterwards? Who knew the heat plus cooling system even works on chickens!
