Diet and exercise help me to stay healthy and happy

I am always happy when the Winter time season ends.

I like when the weather turns warmer and the sun shines every day.

I look forward to getting outdoors and soaking up the Vitamin D. I live in a small town where there are no fitness centers or gyms. There is a county YMCA, but they charge a rather large fee for the membership and the place is always crowded with people. They offer racquetball courts, tennis, and even an indoor pool. The facility also includes an indoor basketball court. Located on the first floor, ther fitness center provides exercise machines such as treadmills, elliptical machines, steppers and stationary bicycles. There are always people standing in line to utilize the exercise equipment. I don’t enjoy my workout when the place is so crowded and competitive for the machines. In the winter, the freezing temperatures make it nearly impossible to workout outdoors. Once the Spring weather arrives, I head outside and start walking or running. It is great exercise and I like the fresh air. There is a wonderful walking trail near my house that covers several miles through town and the woods. Fitness and exercise are necessary to stay healthy. I make sure to eat nutritious meals including all of the fruits, vegetables, and proteins that are in season. I shop at the farmer’s market every week and buy fresh fruits and vegetables. I buy everything from eggplants and cucumbers to apples and grapes. I like coming up with new ways to prepare healthy and nutritious meals. I’ve seen that I feel better when I eat better. I have more energy for my workouts. When I get in a good workout, I’m in a better mood. My diet, fitness regimen and happiness are definitely all connected.
