I should have gotten regular A/C service

Several years ago, I invested in a central cooling appliance for my home.

It was a rather high-priced project.

I obtained a top-of-the-line cooling appliance in order to take advantage of high efficiency operation. I was hoping that a higher SEER level would prove worth the extra cost. The lower electric bills helped to offset the initial expense. At the time of the replacement, the Heating & Air Conditioning appliance contractor advocated that I enroll in a maintenance plan with his supplier. He explained that for a small fee, they send a specialist to repair the air conditioner appliance every Springtime. This seemed like a giant waste of money to me. I didn’t believe that a brand new air conditioner appliance would need maintenance. I kept up with regular air filter changes plus assumed the air conditioner would continue to operate at peak capacity. Just this past summer, I started to have some serious concerns with it. I observed that the cooling appliance was making more noise than usual… Every time it cycled on, there was a peculiar rattling sound plus a slightly musty aroma coming from the HVAC vents. I also needed to lower the temperature control by several degrees because the dwelling felt a bit hot. This forced the air conditioner appliance to run for longer cycles, use more energy plus my electric bill was severely costly. I finally called for professional repair. The specialist took the air conditioner apart plus found a disgusting buildup of dust, mold plus all sorts of debris within the equipment. This accumulation was blocking airflow, polluting my air quality plus impacting my comfort level. Because I hadn’t kept up with professional service, the manufacturer’s warranty no longer applied. I ended up with a pretty huge maintenance bill due to the amount of labor plus upgrade parts needed.
