Daily workouts are a priority

I make exercise part of my daily routine.

  • Just like brushing my teeth or moisturizing my skin, I feel physical activity is necessary.

I take very good care of my body because I want it to last. I hope to avoid health issues as I grow older. I plan to keep active and continue my favorite hobbies. I like to tackle home improvement projects, ride my bike, work in the gardens and play tennis. I am able to bend, squat, lift things and put in long hours of physical labor because I keep myself in excellent physical condition. I workout every morning for an hour. I start with a dedicated warm up where I rotate my various joints. I tip my head back and forth, circle my shoulders, arms and wrists and bend my knees. I also lightly stretch my muscles. Once I feel warm and ready, I transition into high intensity cardio. I might go for a run, ride my bike or use my jump rope. I usually put in about 30 minutes of cardio. I make sure I’m breathing hard and sweaty and always test my endurance levels. I then switch to strength training. I might do lunges, squats, plank holds or push-ups. I might lift free weights. I always stick with low weights and high repetition to avoid building bulk. The hope is to tone and maintain strength levels. Every workout includes some type of ab exercises. I have an incline bench that increases the intensity of simple sit-ups and crunches. I finish with a cool-down that includes a deeper stretch. I focus on flexibility, range of motion and balance. I always feel great after a workout. I don’t understand how some people go through life without taking proper care of their bodies.
