Gym closed during the pandemic

I was lucky to work remotely from home before the beginning of the pandemic.

My work continued while other businesses were shut down.

I was only affected because businesses I used to frequent were no longer available. I missed the ability to take my laptop and work from the local coffee shop. I was disappointed that there was no opportunity to go to the movies or buy concert tickets. One of the biggest changes was my workouts. I have been a gym member forever. I have a fitness center located within walking distance from my apartment. I had a regular routine where I’d head to the gym on my lunch hour and get in a workout. At that time of day, there weren’t many people there. I had my pick of the stationary bikes, ellipticals or treadmills. I liked to switch from cardio to strength training. It was great to have access to so many types of weights. I used the kettlebells, battle ropes, medicine balls and dumbbells. At the end of the workout, I’d take a shower in the locker room. Sometimes, I’d take the time to sit in the steam room or soak in the hot tub. I found it helpful for getting rid of stress and tension. I also had made friendships with people who tended to use the gym at the same times as I did. During the pandemic, the gym was closed down. I had to manage my exercise program at home. I have very limited equipment. I did a lot of running and bike riding to keep fit. I was extremely relieved when the gym opened back up. For a while there were some aggravating regulations about mask-wearing but that has relaxed now.
