My wife and I have a lot of differences even though we share a myriad of commonalities.
She prefers Italian food while I prefer Asian food.
We tend to make a lot of compromises with one another and it helps that neither of us is too stubborn to try something different from time to time. I think it’s these compromises that are essential to a healthy relationship. We don’t even really listen to the same music either. When we take road trips sometimes one of us will listen to our phones with headphones and all the other one uses the stereo if they’re the person driving. But it doesn’t stop us from loving one another deeply. Sometimes we’ll connect over the movies we watch together or the time we spend outside of the house. We both loved hiking and it gives us a lot of time to connect on a one-on-one basis. One thing that I always try to emphasize with my wife is keeping her happy with indoor temperatures. We get really cold temperatures outside throughout the year and it’s imperative that we have the furnace working. My wife gets really uncomfortable and upset when she’s shivering. I know that my wife is happier when the furnace is running so I am content to oblige. Even though running the furnace costs a decent amount of money and energy expenses, and much rather my wife will be happy in the long run. If I had to be honest with myself, I guess I sort of prefer having access to air conditioning as well.
