When I was a little kid I genuinely thought that it was within my wheelhouse to live in a massive fancy house someday.
I expected that I would be returning home to a mini mansion, with all of the coolest gadgets and high-tech living solutions that you could imagine.
I really thought that I was going to be successful, wealthy, and living in a fancy lifestyle some day. Then… I got older and realize that these things are not so easily attainable. Besides, I’m not sure if I would want such a massive house. I started realizing how expensive it was to use a heating, cooling, and air quality control system in a normal sized house, for starters. It’s extremely expensive to use indoor air temperature control units on a regular basis each day. Not only is the energy bill rather high every month living in my conservatively sized house, but the wear and tear on my heating, cooling, and air quality control devices is ridiculous. I feel like I am constantly calling the local heating, cooling, and air quality control dealership for professional maintenance services & repair expenses. Then I started thinking about how much more expensive it would be living in a bigger house with a bigger heating and cooling system. If you were trying to control the indoor air temperature and air quality for a much larger volume of indoor air, I can’t imagine how ridiculous the heating, cooling, and ventilation costs could be. You probably need a commercial heating and cooling system just to keep up with the increased demand. Then, your energy bills and HVAC technician expenses must be astronomical. Maybe it’s best that I don’t make enough money to live in a big house.
