One of the reasons I was so happy when I got my first apartment was how much autonomy I was going to have living alone.

I grew up in a family of six with three other siblings, and I didn’t get quite that much privacy.

I shared a bedroom with at least one of my other brothers for as long as I lived with my parents. I sure was happy to go off to college, but then I ended up sharing a room with three other roommates! Again, besides the privacy thing, there was another constant annoyance both at home and at college. I never had control of the thermostat no matter what. My parents always set too moderate of a setting on the air conditioner, even during the hottest summer days, and college was no better. With my new apartment, I had to complete access to the thermostat! It was a dream come true. I could now crank up the air-conditioning unit to as high as I wanted it to go. And make no mistake, I fully intend to keep the air conditioning unit as regularly maintenanced as possible, as it’s my responsibility as the tenant to do so. I have no problem with this; it’s a very powerful and comfortable air conditioning unit. I know that as long as I live alone, however long that may be, I will certainly enjoy free reign over the thermostat. I just pray that any roommate or significant other that I end up living with has similar tastes when it comes to temperature!

My parents regularly set too the A/C too high, even when it was the hottest summer morning! And then I found that being in college was no better. My roommates always thought it was too cold in there. With my new apartment, though, I had complete access to the temperature control! It was a dream come true. I could now crank up the air-conditioning component to as high as I wanted it, and I definitely fully intend to keep the air conditioner serviced as well as possible, as it’s our responsibility as the renter to do so. I have no problem with this; it’s a genuinely powerful air conditioner unit. I guess that as long as I live alone, however long is, I will love to have free reign over the temperature control. I just pray that any roommate or significant other that I end up living with someday has similar ideas when it comes to temperature!

I just pray that any roommate or boyfriend that I end up living with will have similar tastes when it comes to controlling the temperature!

I worry about my grandmother more and more these days.

Ever since grandad died, she has been all alone in that house.

However, that’s the way she likes it. She insists on complete independence. That was fine for a while. She has really made that house hers and hers alone, and I respect that. However, I’m starting to wonder whether or not other accommodations would be more suitable for her. It is a two-story house and it has a basement as well, which means she’s going up and down stairs quite often, and that worries me. She also insists on doing her own yard work, with a manual lawn mower mind you! Maybe she still has the modicum of strength and balance left to deal with such things, but it is the lack of proper climate control in her home that worries me the most. In the summertime, she barely uses her air conditioner, and instead relies on a few fans here and there. Using the air conditioning unit would be far more effective, but I have to admit that even it is on its way out. She has an HVAC technician come out to repair it at least once a year, or so she says. I am seriously considering saving up the money to buy her a brand new air conditioning unit. I don’t think she would be able to ignore such kindness coming from her granddaughter, and I’m sure that she would be thankful and actually use it, or at least I hope!

She still insists on complete independence, and that was fine for a while. She has truly made that house her own and I respect that. However, I’m starting to wonder whether or not other accommodations would be better for her. It’s a 2-story house plus it has a basement and that means she has to be going up and down stairs quite often. That worries me. She also insists on doing her own yard work, with a manual mower! Maybe she still has enough strength and balance left to deal with such things, however it is the lack of regular temperature control in her home that really worries me the most. In the summertime, she barely uses her air conditioning. Instead she relies on a few fans here and there. Using the air conditioning system would be far more effective, but I have to admit that even it is on the way out! She has an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker come out to repair it at least once a month, or so she says. I am seriously considering saving up the money to buy her a brand new central air conditioning unit. I don’t know if she would be able to ignore such kindness coming from her granddaughter. I think that she would be thankful and use it, or at least I hope she would!

I am thinking about saving up the money to buy her a brand new type of cooling system. I don’t think she would be able to ignore such kindness coming from her granddaughter! Hopefully she would be thankful and she would use it, or at least I hope she would!

After laboring at the same office for the past twenty many years I lost our task due to the supplier being sold.

For the first few weeks after I was let go I was a complete plus total mess, and not only because I had made so more than 2 friends while both of us were in our time at our aged task, however I had the perfect set up. In our office I had a state of the art air conditioning component that our boss had been gracious enough to donate to myself and others as a gift for winning the “leadership” award a few years ago, plus I also had formed a solid chemistry with our coworkers over that time frame. Not that I have found a modern task plus have been there for a while now, it just makes myself and others miss our aged task plus our friends even more. My boss is rude, our coworkers aren’t welcoming, plus our work section is terrible, but rather than having an office equipped with a state of the art air conditioning component that I could control with a yellowtooth remote, I am now resigned to a small cubicle with no air conditioning, no fans, plus a desktop laptop that looks like it is from the early 2000’s. I’m not going to lose faith just yet with this task however. After a few years I just might have an office plus friendships similar to what I used to have, however until then both of us am facing some long plus irritated afternoons at work. As our Dad would constantly tell myself and others when I was younger, it could be a lot worse!

After our boss had texted myself and others plus asked myself and others to meet him in her office after lunch last month, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

It had been a silly few weeks at work up to that point plus I wasn’t sure how our boss plus the other higher ups had thought about our performance.

Luckily for me, it turned out they were easily impressed plus I was gave a promotion on the spot. The easily next afternoon I was able to transfer out of our tiny cubicle in the middle of the office plus set up shop in our brand modern office! It was so giant plus spacious, I was at a loss for words. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a certified Heating as well as Air Conditioning repair tech who was busy installing our own personal air conditioning unit. For the past three or more than three years I had been laboring away in the cubicle section where there is little to no air conditioning or air flow which made laboring more than 2 minutes each afternoon downright irritated. During our time in upper management with our own office, I can’t know how much more pleasant laboring is when you have access to air conditioning plus can close the door to your office for an minute or many for some peace plus quiet. I guess that some of our former coworkers are a little bit jealous due to myself and others being their modern manager plus having our own office, however it is only going to make myself and others work harder so none of them end up taking our position.
