Installing dehumidifier to protect hardwood furnishings

My apartment is nearly several hundred years aged & features much of the original woodwork; I’ve refinished the hardwood floors, stairway & banister, fireplace mantle, doors & moldings.

I’ve spent a great deal of money purchasing antiques to suit the architectural style of the home, very few of years ago, I noticed some concerns with the wood warping, but there were concerns with condensate running down the windows & mold & mildew growth, despite running the air conditioning at max capacity, the humidity was continually making the apartment believe damp & sticky.

I finally consulted with a professional Heating & Air Conditioning company, who explained that air conditionings aren’t designed to dehumidify. Turning down the temperature control was simply increasing the workload of the air conditioning & over-cooling the house. It wasn’t removing the excess moisture. I took the recommendation of the Heating & Air Conditioning professional & invested in a whole-house dehumidifier. The air quality accessory tucked into the air handler of the Heating & Air Conditioning system, where it operates silently. The dehumidifier extracts moisture from the air to maintain optimum humidity levels… Since adding the dehumidifier, I’ve been able to raise the temperature control setting & yet our apartment is far more comfortable. There’s less wear & tear on the air conditioning & I pay lower daily daily bills. Plus, I no longer need to worry about the consequences of high humidity, including mangle to wood furnishings. I’ve noticed that the air smells fresher & our family sleeps better at night. All of us suffer from fewer headaches, sore throats & allergy symptoms, however because of the dehumidifier, the air conditioning should last longer & operate more reliably.
