My best friend bought tickets to see our favorite hockey team at the arena.
They were playing in a championship game and the tickets were very expensive.
My friend found a great deal on the internet and the tickets were almost 40% off. I was supposed to get done working at 3. I needed enough time to go home and take a shower before the game. My best friend was going to pick me up 30 minutes before the game. Around lunch time, I realized that I was not going to be done with all my work at 3pm. I was scheduled to complete a full HVAC installation job and my work partner was dragging his feet. I was in the middle of welding, and he was playing a game on his phone. We still had several hours of work remaining at lunch time. I called my friend and told him that I wasn’t going to get home on time. He became very cranky and started yelling. I tried to explain the situation, but he didn’t want to hear anything about the HVAC installation job or the lazy co-worker. I finally completed the installation job shortly after 4pm. On the way home from work, I called my best friend and told him to pick me up before the game. I didn’t have much time to spare, but we didn’t miss a single minute of the game. My favorite player scored three goals and I got his autograph after the game. I;m so glad that I didn’t miss a single moment of that game.
